Not sure what to say?

1st grade: 1961! I'd slipped off my chair and bloodied my lip and here came my hero! Mr. Stevenson, who just happened to be passing the classroom, ran into the room, whisked me off the floor and down to the nurse! Thanks!

In honor of Coach Stevenson I am tucking in my shirt tail and doing 10 push ups right now. I don't remember all of my teachers. I remember the ones that made a difference.

Mr. Stevenson was my gym teacher at Northside School in the 60's and without a doubt my favorite teacher forever. I have passed along his famous backwards basketball shot to my daughter and all her friends who think it's the coolest. On the field he would yell,"hey hot dog" and that would be enough to propel you to give 110 percent and usually wind up winning. Thanks for everything Mr. Stevenson, we will never forget you

Dear Alma, We shall miss our bi- monthly card games and Bill's sense of humor which always made the evening fun. We shall keep you and the boys in our prayers. Paula and Leo

It was an honor to play soccer for Coach Stevenson at Nassau CC. He made a major impact on the lives of many young people by leading by example. I am very greatful for the privledge of playing for him.

1975 or 1976 NCC Soccer Team. Coach Stevenson was always the fittest.

I was a very fortunate person during my first two years of college, as Coach Stevenson was my coach for Soccer, Indoor Track, and Outdoor Track, as well as my professor for several classes at Nassau Community College. He was a mentor that will never be equaled, and if all of us can conduct ourselves a little like Coach Stevenson we would all be a better person. My condolences to Mrs. Stevenson and the boys. Your dad made a major impact on my life, and many others. I am glad I had the...

My Uncle Bill always had a smile and a hello when you saw him. He showed genuine interest in you personally. As a kid I remember he always made me feel important. Teenie Bopper he called me. Reading all these kind entries shows just how many other peoples lives he touched. He will be missed. We will keep you in our prayers Aunt Alma, Bill, Guy and Matthew. Love Claire,Jim, Michael and Laurel
