William Lamar "Bill" Strawbridge, 79, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at Baptist Attala Hospital in Kosciusko, MS. He was born September 4, 1943, in Choctaw County, MS, to Maxie and Mable Elizabeth (Alford) Strawbridge. Bill was an active member of Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman, MS. Before retiring, he was a serviceman for many years with Mississippi Power & Light, and later with Entergy. During his 40 year career at Entergy, Bill was a loyal friend to his co-workers and a valued resource to countless citizens and business owners in Sunflower County and the Mississippi Delta.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, 2:00 p.m., at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman, MS, with Rev. Jerry Lawson and Rev. Buddy Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Cemetery near McCool, MS. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman will be in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 12:30 till service time at 2:00 at the church.

Bill is survived by his wife, Janice (Clark) Strawbridge of McCool, MS; 1 son, William Ryan (Caroline) Strawbridge of Greenwood, MS; 1 sister, Mary Ann (Andy) Vanlandingham of Clinton, MS; 1 brother, Bernard (Peggy) Strawbridge of Oxford, MS;
and 2 grandchildren, Rhodes and Catherine Strawbridge.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and 1 sister, Carol Pearson.

Memorials may be made to Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, PO Box 294, Ackerman, MS.

I am so sorry Janice and Ryan for the loss of Bill. I just recently heard the news. I have so many fond memories of your entire family in our church in Indianola. My prayers are with you now and in the days to come.

Bill and I have been friends since our days at Holmes Junior College. Bill was a good and kindhearted man and I cherish his friendship. He was the kind of person you enjoyed being around. He will be missed by one and all. Rest In Peace my friend. J.L Peeples

The Strawbridges have been good neighbors to the Sloan family for many years. Billy's parents even took care of me when my brother Tony was born in 1953. Growing up, I always knew Billy because I was friends with his sister MaryAnn, but I only got to know him as an adult when he and Janice moved back to Panhandle. He was always such a calm and caring person; he and Janice brought a little Delta style to the community. They also brought joy to my Mother, Grace on their frequent visits.
