Ricia,
I just learned of Bill's passing. Please accept my VERY late condolences. You know how much I respected and liked your father. It seems like I grew up knowing him and you of course. He was so good to my mother who worked for him for so many years.I know you miss him as we all do. Bill has taken that last ride on the Up Elevator and he has probably hired St.Peter to edit his new 'Heaven World' magazine.

I had the pleasure of meeting with and interviewing Mr. Sturgeon in 2006. He was warm, funny and generous with his time. So sorry for your loss.

A grandfather to me and mentor who I will miss yet treasure all the stories he shared over the years. I know he is smiling down upon us from the top floor in heaven.

May we all recall Bill's enthusiasm for life and his faith in God. Bill was a focused and deliberate person who enjoyed the challenges of life and sought to see the adventure in wherever God placed him. May his family find peace amidst their grief.

Ricia,
Just learned of your Dad's passing. We met Bill in 1971 at our first NAEC meeting and during the cruise in 1972 spent a lot of time together. We have been friends and neighbors ever since. Your Dad was an "Uncle" to our daughter Candace while she attended U.S.A. in Mobile during the mid 80's. Your Dad has left a profound imprint on the elevator world and we are a better industry because of him.

My condolences to the Sturgeon Family and Elevator World in the loss of a truly wonderful man. I only met him once but he was a pleasure to be around. God bless you all.

Thank you Mr Sturgeon for starting my life in art. (Thank you).
