Enjoyed working for Bill for many years at the Florida Public Service Commission. He was always a straight-shooter. Still have a pix of Bill and others at the PSC in front of 38 gag grouper we caught on a charter fishing boat. He is sorely missed.

Bill was a joy to talk with whenever he came by Camping World. I ache to think we won't be talking again about Roadtreks, motorcycles, and sharing Jesus! The man lived everyday to the fullest and I know he is enjoying Heaven and can't wait to tell us all about it. He was a man who lived his live with grace.
"To live with the conscious knowledge of the shadow of uncertainty, with the knowledge that disaster or tragedy could strike at any time; to be afraid and to know and acknowledge your fear, and still to live creatively and with unstinting love: that is to live with grace."

Dear Mary:
Word of Bill's passing reached me only yesterday. as we now live in the mountains of North Carolina. I am so sad to hear about it, and my prayers are with you and your family.
I worked for Tampa Electric Company for 37 years, and I worked with Bill at the Public Service Commission from 1970 to the time he retired. I always found him to be honest and forthright, and I enjoyed our relationship a great deal. Although I had not seen Bill since I retired in 1999, I have thought of him often, and I will certainly miss him as a colleague and a friend.

I was fortunate to work at the FPSC for 12 years, with Mr. T. as either Deputy E.D. or E.D. during that whole time. I started with not a whole lot of knowledge about telephone and not a lot of confidence either. Mr. T. was always in my corner and he was a solid supporter who gave me the faith in myself to jump into numerous new challenges. I cherish the video tape I have of Mr. T. and some other friends from the PSC singing "My Girl" when I left the Commission. I have so many good memories of times with Mr. T.--the spoon trick on the nose; his funny notes passed across the table at agenda (I still keep some of them); my "Mugged by Mr. T" cup I still use; his groaner jokes. I followed Mr. T.'s post-retirement "transformation" vicariously through friends still in the Tallhassee area and was tickled he got to do something that gave him so much joy. His passing is too sad, and I hope his family is able to smile at the many more happy memories you must have about such a special and beloved man. My prayers are with you.

Dear Aunt Mary, Chris & family, and Sharon & family,
I will always remember Uncle Bill as a gentle, loving man with a wonderful smile. I loved how he could be who he was..he wasn't afraid to show his silly side...even in a suit wearing a fishing hat or his serious side when it was time to pray to our Father! You knew instantly when you saw him how much he loved and enjoyed his family, our Lord, and his church. My heart breaks that he was called to heaven so early, but it is God's plan that we must accept, even though it hurts so much. I wish I could have came to Tallahassee to be there with all of you. Our love and prayers are with you. We love you!

I have loved Bill all my life. As a child I looked up to him and always enjoyed the times we got to visit he and my aunt Mary. They are some of my best childhood memories. I wish I could have seen more of him as an adult and I will miss him very much.
My heart and prayers go out to Mary, Chris & Sharon and all the rest of his family and friends. I hope to see him again one day in a much better place than here. I love you, Mary, and wish I could put my arms around your neck!! My thoughts are ALWAYS with you!!!!

I had the great pleasure of working for Mr. T when his long time assistant Diane was out on medical leave. He had a huge impact on this green behind the ears South Georgia girl. He always had a twinkle in his eyes and the best smile. My thoughts and prayers are with Mr. T's family.

To Bill Talbott's family I share these thoughts:
When I first met Bill Talbott, he was wearing one of those clown noses and mustache. From that moment I was curious about this unusual Executive Director. Clearly, he was no clown. But he was having fun and I swear his eyes were twinkling. I later realized through direct experience and observation that Mr. "T" was comfortable with himself and his place in the world. And although he was a superb manager, he was much, much more. He was Mr. "T" who just happened to be an Executive Director.
I do not believe that we are able to know in this life why something like this happens. But however this universe is ordered, and surely it is ordered, Mr. "T" was as close to the wholeness I have striven for as I have been priviledged to come. Through word and deed he was and is an inspiration to me.
Such is the impression of him that still lives in me -- and in so many others.
God was with him and his family in his time and most assuredly is now and will always be.

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family. I enjoyed 17 years with the PSC, made pleasant by Bill's friendly smile and his always happy greetings. He always had a few moments to greet me as we met during our daily activities. I recall the many conversations we enjoyed relative to the "Horm Honker" I designed and constructed for Bill to use on his hunting trips. He dreamed of such device, never realizing it was possible and he never let me forget his deep appreciation for the small effort. He truly enjoyed his hunting trips and I enjoyed his "story telling." I shall always remember Bill and his friendship.
God Bless each of you as you send Bill to a much happier land. His work on earth may be completed, but his smiling face will always live on and Bill will be remembered forever.

Mary, Chris and Sharon: My heart goes out to all of you. Bill was such a loving, kind person. Although I had not seen him for several years, I remember him coming to our church with the Christian Motorcycle group. He was loved by so many and he will live on in many hearts. I know my father-in-law, Mabe Ervin, spoke so highly of Bill and valued him so as a member of the PSC team. May all of you find peace in the wonderful memories you shared with him.

Mary,
I met Bill through CMA. He was a great help and source of encouragement as I assumed his role of Chaplain of the local chapter. In the short 2 years that I had the privilege of knowing him, I was always impressed by the way that he loved people, loved God and loved to show God's love to all he was with. He truly had a Godly impact in the lives of everyone he met, and all who knew him were truly blessed. I am praying for you and your family.

Bill and I use to pass each other all the time on the Blue Creek Highway. We always waved at one another. I will miss seeing him ride by, I always envied the freedom he seemed to enjoy on his bike. It reminded me of “He lifts us up on wings of eagles” kind of like flying on the ground. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. We must remember he has gone home, where we all would like to be.

Mary, Chris, Sharon and family,
Words cannot express the loss we feel. Bill has been our friend, brother and uncle all rolled into one terrific person. Even though we lived far apart, we always felt as though it had only been a short while since last we saw one another. We will always regret not being there for you. There will be a vacant spot in our hearts and he will be forever missed. We pray for your well being everyday. May God watch over and bless you.
Lovingly,

Mr. "T" was a great inspiration for those of us here at the PSC. He was truly a Christ loving man with great values. He stopped by our church "First Baptist Crawfordville" about two months ago on Sunday night and sang Amazing Grace. Really a great man who will be missed.

Mary, Sharon, Chris & other relatives…
There are no words to describe the loss of a loved husband, wonderful father or endearing friend… Such a loss shuts down our worldly thought processes through a cacophony of emotions and physical duress.
I still remember the day my father passed away only a few yards from where I was sitting. The overwhelming feelings I experienced as a 9-year old have never gone away, but with the passage of time, the relative intensity of those feelings has eventually lessened… But my biggest regret was not really knowing how my father thought and what he believed in… My mother told me he was a Christian man. I remembered he was a fun father and cared deeply about me and our family, but like most 9-year olds, that was always taken-for-granted.
We cannot and would never attempt to gauge the depth of your sorrows for your husband or father, but we can truly say this with positive acclaim. Bill enjoyed his brief sojourn on this earthly plane of existence and we are sure he fulfilled most of his life-long dreams, and ALL of the dreams involving you, Mary, and Sharon and Chris… And we know that Bill believed the Lord never meant for our earthly existence to be the only manifestation of His love, but to provide a mechanism for accepting and serving Him, on Earth, as in Heaven.
We hope you, Mary, Sharon and Chris…may take some small comfort in knowing that all who knew Bill ---- loved, liked and respected him… and that all of us look forward to joining Bill again and the Lord God in that spiritual plane of existence, we know IS Heaven!
Faithfully yours,
The Henderson Family (Greg, Sue, Whitney & Courtney)

Mary, Sharon, Chris and family,
Our deepest sympathy goes out to you. We met Bill through the Christian Motorcyclists Association. For the past two years we've enjoyed spending many Tuesdays riding with him. It was a joy to hear him talk of all of you, especially the stories of teaching his grandsons to hunt. He loved people and wanted them to know how much God loved them. It was awe inspiring when we went to the motorcycle shops and the convenience stores on his country roads, that he knew most every one's name and they knew him. He truly was one of those men who would give the shirt off his back to help some one. We were truly blessed to be allowed to spend many adventurous days with him. We will miss him very much. Our prayers are with you.
