Not sure what to say?

As a fellow-student with Bill in classes at SWBTS, I asked him in 1958: "With a doctorate in education already earned, for what reason would you come to Seminary?" His answer: " God wanted me to go a different direction, so here I am." His life was in total service to Our Lord. His direction and arrival are for Heaven to still serve Our Savior. God Bless and comfort his Family during this loss of Bill.

Mrs. Tanner and family, I would like to tell you how sorry I am to read of the passing of such a great man. Dr. Tanner and you made me a part of your family for two summers(1977-1978)that were the best summers of my life. Dr. Tanner, thank you for the memories and God Bless.

Dear Ellen, Kimberly & family,
All of you have been in my thoughts and prayers and will continue to be. I know that you have God's peace even in the midst of your grief. He is our Comforter. Dr. Tanner always took time for everyone and will be greatly missed by people all over the world.

Dear Ellen, It's hard to believe after receiving your recent letter last week that Bill has passed away. We had great days with Bill and you at Baylor, in early pastorates, in Atlanta with the HMB, and during recent days. We will miss him very much. We love you and pray for you to have God's support during these days.

Dr. Tanner taught me love by example. In my rebellious Jr. and Sr. years at OBU, he accepted me as I was. His example and that of my parents played a major part in helping me eventually to get "back on track". We think so much of your family. I know it will be hard for a while to be without Dr. Tanner, but he's in a much better place now, and it won't be long until we all can rejoice together with Jesus.
