It is with great sadness but assurance that Dr. Tedford (affectionately, the people's Dr. T.) is in a better place. The passing of Dr. T. came as a surprise to us here in Newport News, Virginia. He was a brother of intellect, and passion for people. Our relationship grew after four trips with NPN. When there were no rooms available on the ship, Dr. T. offered one of his complimentary rooms to my wife and me. He offered us the opportunity to share our music and drama gifts on sail. Dr....

I became a friend of Tedford when he was a fellow at Duke University Hospital and I was Dean of the School of Nursing. Through the NPN network and cruises over the years , our friendship and association grew, including helping to organize the NPN continuing education program. He was an excellent doctor and an advocate for facilitating networking of various professionals in a developmental and social environment for the enhancement of one's career and practice. So much to say...., just found out a short time ago. William, or Tedford, as I called him was quite a gifted, unique, talented, complicated man. Physician, entrepreneur, risk taker, perseverant, Christian, intelligent.....insecure. At one time we were best friends. He is already and will continue to be missed. I will pen more another time.
