Bill and I worked together as Crypyogrsphers (secret codes), in Wethersfield RAF Base, Essex County, Braintree, England, for approximately three years. I am from Lawrence County, TN, currently living in Smyrna, TN. I am 97, in good health, and Blessed. I was an orphan at age 15, and attended Morgan Military school (same as Bill). My wife, Helen, passed at age 94 (we were married 72 years). I was assigned to the Pentagon in early 60´s, and met with Bill and his two daughters in the Arlington...

I am terribly saddened to read of Bill's passing. He was one of y favorite persons and i have many memories of long conversations with him. What a terrible loss what a wonderful man. May he rest in peace in Gods loving embrace.

It's the truest measure of a man as to how he treats those junior folks who encounter and work with him. I can say truly BT showed his measure as a kind and wise senior whose sage advice to me when I worked as a Hill staffer for Bob Dole, and later in my DC career, was greatly appreciated. Like his partner, Tom Korologos, we will not likely see his likes again.
