Not sure what to say?

Bill was my Geology teacher in my senior year at PHS back in `98. We went on several field trips together that year. We had a great time. Bill was always happy and always smiling. I always made sure to speak with him any chance I got after high school. He was a good person to be around, and he was a fantastic role model. Rest In Peace Mr Tobin. You will be missed.

Bill was a good man, and I am honored to have been coached by him at The Club, as well as working under his supervision at the waterfront of Camp Russell. He was fair, funny, and kind in a time when a lot of men were not. I have thought of him and his family a lot over these long years. Exciting that the latest chapters of his life were as an artist. I would have liked to met him again. Love to Eileen and his family. You were all a big part of my summers. Peace to you

My introduction to St. Joe Cemetery in the summer of 1968 would have been far different if not for Bill Tobin. He regaled us rookies with stories from past years escapades at SJC... from stories of FX and Co. hiding in the pine trees ( long gone for many years now) on the top of Section H,while they alternated keeping look out and resting. To the stories of playing horse shoes in front of the Stapelton monument in Sec.I. Bill filled us new guys in on the `requirements´ of being summer...

Our deepest condolences to the family

I first met Bill our freshman year at St. Joe High but knew him best from working together at St. Joe Cemetery. When we talked last month, all the funny stories from 50 years ago came back and we laughed a lot. Also last week I was talking to a man who lives near me in New Hampshire. I knew he grew up in Pittsfield, so I asked if he knew Bill. He said "I loved Bill. He was my teacher at North Jr., my swimming coach at PHS, and I was a camper and staff member at Camp Russell. I´ll never forget...

I learned of Coach Tobin's passing from his brother Chris last night. Words couldn't express what I feel so I won't try. Thanks for teaching all of us on the swim team the meaning of discipline, hard work, and self-respect - you are a better man than I am Coach. Looking forward to seeing you further up on the road.

Josh & Family: So sorry to hear of your Dads passing, He was a great guy, We worked together at PHS for a number of years and he will be missed!

Bill was a good guy and a great friend to many. He was a fine artist, scientist, athlete and community- builder, with a bright smile, quick wit, eagerness to learn, see and explore, and he brought it all to every day and situation. He will be ever-admired and greatly missed by many. All love and sympathy to his wonderful family. They brought him countless hours of happiness and laughter.

Jay, My condolences on the passing of your Brother.
