TOOMBS, William M. "Pete", 94, of Richmond, passed away March 30, 2009. Preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Hazel Blair Toombs; and daughter, Sue T. Rowe. He is survived by four grandchildren, Susan Gaskins (Tom), Laura Noble (Bob), David Rowe (Leila) and Steven Rowe; four great-grandchildren, Beth Foster, Blair Noble, Bobby Noble and Betty Jane Rowe; sister, Katherine Castleberry; sister-in-law, Ida Kibler (Kibby); son-in-law, Dan M. Rowe (Fran); and numerous nieces, nephews and faithful friends. Mr. Toombs was a lifetime member of North Run Baptist Church. He was the founder of Colonial Plating Shop, where he retired after 46 years. The family would like to thank the staff and residents at Chestnut Grove Assisted Living for their love, care and assistance over the past four years. The family will receive family and friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bliley's-Staples Mill, 8510 Staples Mill Road. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday at North Run Baptist Church, 2100 Lydell Dr. Entombment Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North Run Baptist Church General Fund.

Pete lived a good full life and has now entered into the arms of his beloved father. I know he will be sorely missed.
