Not sure what to say?

Receiving this note underscores the fact that I have been missing Bill. I think the fairly recent death of our fellow Deerfield classmate, Bob Milling, brought this home to me.

Some of the messages here remind me of the good times and the Blakes generally have had with the Tripps who have a special gift for friendship, hospitality and family life. The gift seemed to be shared vertically though generation of Tripps and horizontally to siblings and cousins. Being with the Tripps...

Dear Bobbi Thinking of you I was so sad to read about Bills passing in the Wianno news What a wonderful man he was I always loved seeing you both at the tennis courts giving out THE TRIPP Cup! Fondly Vinnie

Dear Tripp Family,
Bill was one of a kind. Our family was a long standing client but he was so much more than an estate attorney, his was a life to admire and aspire. I will always remember his uniquely distintive "Bill" signature he put on his letters, as unique as the man himself.
Fondly,

Dear Mrs. Tripp, Deb & Tim,

I can so clearly recall Mr. Tripp's warm, ready smile. I have vivid memories of him at your Cape house where his enthusiastic greetings made me feel like a sought after guest, though I could have been no more than ten or so. I always had the understanding that if anything happened to my parents, I would live at your home with my brother and sisters, and this that brought me great comfort as a child.

I send my love to you all,

Dear Bobbi and Family,

I was very sad to hear of Bill's passing. He was such a lovely man. I felt that The Boston Globe obituary so accurately captured him. He was very kind to and supportive of me when I worked with him at Sherburne, Powers and Needham. I wish you peace.

Dear Bobbi, Debbie and Tim,
I'm very sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Although I didn't know him well, after reading about this honorable and distinguished man, I feel a greater loss, for myself and for all of mankind. I intend to attend the memorial service today to say farewell.

Warmly,
Lisa Manning Batchelder (Susan V.Currier)

PS. Judith Braunfeld wishes to extend condolences to the family.

Dear Tripp family,
Our sincerest condolences to you for your loss. The news of Bill's passing is more than sad. He was an extraordinary human being, and it was, for us, a great privilege to have known him. Our memories of him will never fade.

Dear Bobbi, Deb, Tim and all your families, we would like you to know that Bill will be always remembered with great affection.
Since meeting in Oxford, UK we enjoyed his generosity and humour.
We shared his pride in his family and he will always retain a special place in our thoughts.
On behalf of all family and friends in Britain, with heartfelt wishes, from Val and Michael, Gina and Mike.

Tripp Family,

I knew your Dad when I was a kid in Wellesley, visiting the house with Tim, and I always remembered his gentle demeanor and smile. I am amazed by all that he did. You have a very special family - your father must have felt very proud.
