The quote from Wordsworth at the end of this obit perfectly captures the person I was lucky enough to know in the Post-Dispatch news room in the '70s and '80s. In a workplace full of bold personalities, he was always gentle, soft-spoken, thoughtful, and respectful. What a fine man he was. I am so sorry to hear he is gone.

Mr. Tucker was our next door neighbor when we first moved to Webster Groves. I remember him as a very nice man, quiet and humble, and he was always had a smile and a kind word. On the day Casio. We enjoyed seeing him at the College Church on many Sundays, too.
