Not sure what to say?

Bill and I were classmates in high school back in Dearborn Michigan. His sense of humor always fascinated me - he once told me he had a little brother, Peter VanMeter, but i thought he was teasing - now I see that was true. I cannot believe our paths never crossed because we only lived about 40 minutes from one another after all these years. I am so sorry I missed his memorial.

Bill, You and I served in the Philippines in 1968-1969.....your outlandish humor and gags made overseas service that much easier, almost fun. May your signals always be 5x5.

Tom Latimer ex-CTR(2)

I met Bill many years ago at Perrigo. Our paths crossed several times over the years until his retirement. He was such a great person and mentor. He will certainly be missed.

I first met Bill in the early 1970's when he was at Western getting his chemistry degree. He was a classmate of a close friend of mine, Mike Shubeck. Through Mike I was introduced to Bill. He always seemed to be calm about things so naturally we called him Wild Bill. I moved to Kalamazoo myself in 1973 and Bill was one of the people who, from time to time, helped me in a variety of ways. The biggest way he helped was to let me live with him in the summer of 1976 while I attended summer...

I am deeply saddened by Bills passing. He was a dear friend and colleague at Perrigo.
Bill was a brilliant scientist and, more importantly, a wonderful and caring human being. I will never forget the first time I met him during my initial interview in 1994. After an introductory lunch, we both went to his office for an afternoon interview. After parting the beaded entrance to his office, I nervously sat down, well prepared to discuss chemical mass balance, the Maxima 820 chromatography...

Bill was my first boss and mentor at Perrigo. I haven't seen him about 3 years. It breaks my heart to learn of his passing. He did so much to teach me, gave me opportunities to stretch myself, was always a strong supporter and overall had a huge influence on my career then and even now. I have so many fond and funny memories of him. I missed him greatly when he retired, but valued and have shared with many others something I will never forget from his retirement speech'. He said it never...

I worked with Bill at Perrigo from March of 1983 until September 1988. He was a witty, caring, and intelligent person. Also was a neighbor of his until I left Kalamazoo 2 years ago - he was a good conversationalist who will be dearly missed. Condolences to his family..

I worked with Bill at Perrigo for many years. I always admired his quick wit and depth of knowledge. He taught me so much. We missed him when he retired and we will miss him even more now. Rest In Peace my friend and patient teacher.

So sorry to hear of Bill's passing.

I was secretary to the Chief Chemist and Analytical Lab group at Perrigo's in the 1980's. Bill was Sr. Analytical Chemist in the lab at that time. He was a quiet type of guy with a very dry sense of humor. As I got to know him I knew he was a kind, caring person and very smart. I enjoyed working with him. I am so glad to find out that he achieved the title of Chief Chemist before he retired from Perrigo, a position he so highly...
