CARTER, Janice H. "Ganny Girl" - Of Grand Blanc, age 84, died Saturday, May 14, 2005 at Genesys Convalescent Center. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Wednesday, May 18, 2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Roger L. Colby officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Red Cross. Visitation 12Noon-3PM and 5-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Janice was born in Caruthersville, Missouri on November 27, 1920. She graduated from Flint Central High School in 1938. She married Richard Carter on November 1, 1939 in Flint. Mrs. Carter was a past member of Warwick Hills Country Club. In the past she was in charge of transportation and housing for the pro's during the Buick Open. Mrs. Carter was Director of volunteers for the American Red Cross for the Genesee, Shiawassee and Lapeer Counties. Surviving are daughter, Gayle and husband Phillip Oram of Yorba Linda, California; son, Larry and wife Annette of Grand Blanc; daughter, Sally Williams and friend, Bob Francis of Seabrook, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Kelly and husband Dan Wickemeyer, Tracy and husband Eric Dunahou, all of California; Greg and wife Becky Oram of Idaho, Phil and wife Stacy Gillman of Grand Blanc, Rick Carter of East Lansing, Trey Hocking of Texas, Jamie and husband Robbie Rosenberger of Virginia and Justin Williams of Texas; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; 2 sisters, Agnes Barrick and Barbara Oliver, both of Lapeer; brother, Richard and wife Della Tanner of Englewood, Florida; brother-in-law, Billy Carter of Missouri; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by husband, Richard, in 1996. A special thank you to Genesys Convalescent Center.

My heart goes out to the family at his time. I'm sorry I can't be there, but know my thoughts are with you. I have many fond memories of being at Aunt Jan and Uncle Jerry's house with the family. There was never a dull moment with all of us kids running around getting into mischief.
