Just learned of my dear elder brother's passing today. Bill (and Lynda) are family to me. More than family. I am deeply saddened. Bill was always that older brother that I never had. As a big brother he gave me advice when I was considering marriage. His booming laughter was so invigorating. Loved to hear him sing "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God." Donnie and I will always remember Bill as a genuine friend. He and Lynda are so very precious to us. May the blessings of Jesus be with you Lynda. With love, Myra & Donnie Clayton. 5/15/16

Wish we lived close enough to give you hugs today. Instead, please know we're thinking of you all and remembering Bill's smile, his kindness and quick mind. We are thankful for your trips north that gave us chances to get to know him and your family.

The next time we see one another at Danbury Hospital, we will be the patients. It was so nice to see a familiar face the times we did run into each other. For now, I truly appreciate in part at least what you are going through. The numbness helps. Look forward to seeing you soon and giving you a "Bunny hug."

I served on the New Milford Board of Education with Bill and was very impressed with his dedication to the students of New Milford. He did his homework thoroughly and did not hesitate to express his views -- most of which I agreed with. I value the time I spent talking with him before and after Board meetings and even after his term on the Board was over. He was "one of a kind" and I feel fortunate to know him.

Dear Lori and family, sending love and prayers to you all. Considering that your father's proudest accomplishments were his children, and I have had the pleasure of having met three of them, it is evident that he was a gifted father indeed.

Lynda and your entire wonderful family, My heart broke upon hearing of Bills passing. I am aware of his deep love for all of you. Also his involvement with the BOE was appreciated. I had the pleasure of a legal consultation with Bill and at the end of our meeting he gave me what he called "fatherly advice" towards my situation....I took that advice and ran with it and it proved to be excellent advice. Anyone would have been happy and proud to have him as a father or as a husband....love to all of you
