Am just receiving the sad news of Bill's passing. He was a good man for sure, as his obit states. The only thing conceivably missing was a mention of Bill's devising the "Wessinger Rod" which ultimately became commonly known as the switching stick for arthroscopic surgery. So good to have know him so closely.

Sending sincere condolences to his family & friends. Dr. Wessinger will forever be my "HERO"!! He changed my life after a horrific car accident in 1990 leaving my leg shorter from a botched surgery by another doctor. Dr. Wessinger was very confident in what he could do for me so I wouldn't have to wear a almost 3" build up shoe for the rest of my life & at the age of 12 this was devastating he performed this surgery that took him over 8hrs to do & in his words to my parents that "was on Hell...

Sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Wessinger. In 1986 he performed a miracle surgery on my hand that I had loss complete use of. With a passionate tone and a BIG smile, he stated that we had work to do and he was going to save my hand. 39 years later and this hand is still better than ever.
