William L. Wickham Sr., age 76, of Glen Carbon, died at 2:15 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009, at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis. Mo. He was born on Feb. 18, 1932, in East St. Louis, the son of the late Lathrop E. and Clara Koenig Wickham. He married Virginia Baker on Sept. 7, 1957, in Caseyville....

During this time of mourning, I would like to express my sincere condolence at the loss of your loved one. May you find comfort in persistent prayers, as “the peace of God that excels all thought will guard your heart and your mental powers.” [Phil. 4:7] I certainly hope that the help God can give at this time will make a difference.

My condolences on Bill's passing. I was Bill's secretary in McDonnell Douglas after Doris retired and he was a delightful boss and coach. He taught me much about computers and was a cheerful person to work for. I'm grateful for the time we worked together.

Bill was a good person and leader. He provided me with the opportuities to grow my career at McDonnell Douglas. I was always thankful to him. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your loss.

Bill was a great person and provided me with leadership in my early years at McDonnell Douglas in the Contracts Department. My condolences and prayers to his family.

Virginia and family we offer our prayers for all of you. We have such fond memories of living next door to you.We spent many an evening with you and Bill on our back porch. We will treasure the memories of our days in Edwardsville as you were such good neighbors. We wish you all Gods' Peace during this very difficult time.
