My deepest condolences to Dr. Wiggins' family. He was an inspiration in my life when I was a student at IU. May he rest in peace.

My spouse (Dr. Yvette M. Alex-Assensoh) and our two sons (Kwadwo & Livingston) join me in extending our most heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Janice Wiggins, Daughter Mary Ellen Wiggins and the entire bereaved family on the passing of Professor William H. Wiggins, Jr. He was a beloved and well-respected colleague in the AAADS Department of Indiana University, Blomington campus.

Professor Wiggins, who eschewed rancor but promoted unity in collegial ranks and progress for the AAADS...

With deepest sympathy,

Dr. Wiggins was an important mentor to many of us who called him teacher. I sorely missed him when he retired. I miss him more now. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am saddened beyond belief by the loss of "Doc" who took me in as part of the flock he watched over when I moved to Bloomington, IN. I remember his fondness for all things IU, especially the basketball team. I was one of his teaching assistants for his Intro to African American studies course one year and I learned lessons that I carry with me today, almost 20 years later. The IU and Bloomington communities have lost one of its great ambassadors and the world is a little darker without his...

Dr Wiggins allowed me to learn about me as a Human Being through the African American Studies courses he so loved to teach. He will always be remembered as one of the best Educators I was blessed to have.

I am very saddened to hear of Dr. Wiggins' passing. I enjoyed African American studies at Indiana University and took every class that Dr. Wiggins taught. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

He encouraged me beyond belief, one of my favorite professors at Indiana University. My deepest sympathies to his family.
