William M. "Bill" Winsor

Just learned of Bill's passing and am shocked and saddened. We began communicating years ago in relation to a book he was working on which was to include information about my maternal ancestors, Aldrete. Bill was kind enough to send me some original papers that had been discovered. I will treasure them forever, as I will his memory. My deepest condolences to his family.

It was my pleasure and privilege to work with Bill for twenty years, more or less, when he'd bring Dallas Marketplace groups to Camp Topridge here in the Adirondacks. He was a delight. I'd see him for a few hours, then have to wait a year until our next handshake and conversation. He loved his work and did it well, but he really got a glow on when speaking of his home, family, and ranch in Texas. I´m so sorry for your loss. I know he will be missed by everyone who knew him. I am so grateful that I got to visit with him when he finished his last book. I will keep his family in my prayers.
