VanderLaan Funeral Home - Hudsonville Obituary

“Do not grieve for me my friends. My life has been all any man can ask. A kind and faithful wife who has given me five beautiful children who have married well and are independent of me. Honest work to provide for them and privilege of serving two years in the US Military. I was born at home...

Not sure what to say?

It is with great sadness for Nancy and Martie and Dick over the loss of your brother-in-law. And likewise to Bill's children and their family, and all of his friends. I know each one will feel the loss in a different way. He was a great man and always nice to be with. I fine peace in knowing he will be reunited with his wonderful wife who died before him to make a place for him at her side in heaven. My love and prayers to all of you . . .Barbara

Judy and I got to know Bill over the last 5 years. He was in my church group at Holy Redeemer. We talked about growing up in Catholic schools as kids, life in general, politics, and many religious subjects. I was impressed by the width and depth of his knowledge on many subjects. He will be missed for he cast a large...

Our Thoughts and Prayers are with the Wise Family.
Midge & Roger Brickner

We would like to express our grief and sadness to Bill's family. Bill will always be remembered as a good and kind man and a wonderful friend. It was always great fun when Bill and Eileen would be with us at our class reunions. Bill would get this little smile in the corner of his mouth and you just knew he had a quick and funny comment coming. Our class of 1954 will be so sad this year. We so hoped that Bill would be with us to celebrate our 65th high school reunion. Rest well my friend.

To all of the family, I had the privilege of knowing and working with Bill for many years. Bill was a great man and partner in our business. My life was very blessed to work with Bill.

We will really miss Bill. He was a great father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, and (most importantly) a wonderful husband to my sister Eileen. David & I always admired his kindness, wit, intelligence, and calm manner. I know he looked forward to being reunited with Eileen in Heaven. May he rest in peace.
