Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry to hear about Bill. I have known Bill (and Ruth) for several years through their volunteer work at AARP. Bill was always so giving of his time and energy. He was a very funny, smart and kind man and we will all miss him very much!

I was saddened to hear about Bill. I met Bill a few years ago through my friend Ruth, his lovely wife. Bill was funny, smart, and loved to laugh. He always put a smile on my face every time I saw him. I will miss him.

Bill was one of the most intelligent men I have known. A man of integrity and honesty who made a difference with every person he met. I was honored to have known him and will miss him. May God grant you peace, Ruth. You and Bill's work here on earth are evident in the family you raised.

I knew Bill Yingst when I was a teenager in Goose Creek subdivision in Louisville back in the early 70s. I hung out lots with Sharon at the Yingst home, and that gave me lots of great face time as well with Stephanie, Andrea and Ruth. I remember Bill as a really nice man, but as more than nice. He had a Buddha-like serenity about him and a soft smile. In comparison with the four women around him he had (dare I say it, ladies?) a quiet calm about him. So calm that I sometimes I thought he was...

I worked for Bill in Ohio Valley. It was my first job with AAFES and at many times, I was scared to death of him. He knew so much about the buying business and was respected by everyone. I knew I had to toe the line to stay in his good graces. He taught us all alot. He was giant in my eyes. My prayers go out to the family.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill in the Ohio Valley Exchange Region, and I appreciated the good work he accomplished while we were both there. My condolences go to Ruth and family.

AAFES has been fortunate to employ a workforce of dedicated, caring employees. Bill's contributions to AAFES were significant and continue to positively impact the organization today.

A good man. Funny, engaging, and he never forgot a name. What a difference Bill made to the Duncanville community. If only we all had had the spirit of volunteerism shared by Bill and Ruth. Bill had a tremendous outlook on life and knew how to make the most of it. He will be missed by so many.

Bill was Chief of Retail in Munich at EES when I first met him in the early 70s. I was a fledgling AAFES hire and he was an ominous figure in my eyes. He later showed a far gentler side and I especially enjoyed his 55-Alive class I attended in Duncanville. God Bless him and his sense of humor!!
