Not sure what to say?

I was saddened by the news. Moon was a great VF-1 squadron mate to all. Every person knew Moon - Moon knew every person. And now Moon is at the "High Perch", looking down, we can't see him, but you know that he has not lost his "Tally" on us...
EZ sendz...

It was my "honor" to have known "Moon". He was an outstanding officer, flyer and person. The best thing that had happened to the Miramar Fighter Community in many a day. May you always have "Fair winds and a following sea Moon,". Capt Ed Anderson, a friend.

Moon was a great squadron mate and leader. It was a pleasure to serve with him in the first F-14's and VF-1. The Wolfpak guys were all special but Moon was extra special. We have wonderful memories of him.

CONDOLENCES TO THE MULLINS FAMILY. I SERVED WITH HIM DURING MY EARLY NAVY YEARS IN VF-2.(USS ENTERPRISE AND USS RANGER). I STILL RECALL HIM SPORTING A "GROUCHO MARX" NOSE AND SUNGLASSES IN THE COCKPIT DURING AN EARLY MORNING LAUNCH SEQUENCE. QUITE A SIGHT FOR A SAILOR WHO HAD NEVER BEFORE BEEN UP ON THE FLIGHT DECK.. THOUGHTS AND PAYERS.

Kathleen:
Our deepest sympathies to you and your family. Moon was a super naval officer, one you always remember. I relieved him as CO at Miramar and from my first day aboard everyone would talk about what a great skipper he was. The turnover we had in the week or two before the change-of-command showed me that a man of outstanding leadership was at the helm of NAS Miramar. Naval aviation has lost a wonderful officer.

"Moon" was a great Shipmate in VF-1. Brenda & I have fond memories of our days togather in that squadron. He made Major contributions to Naval Aviation & will be missed by all of his shipmates.

Sincerely,

Roger & Brenda McFillen

I worked with "Moon" during the early days of the F-14A program at Miramar----an outstanding Naval officer and gentleman,he'll be missed---may he rest in peace.

A hero and great shipmate. The daring and dedication of the F-14 aircrews always pushed the envelope.

We are deeply saddened by Moon's passing. Please accept our most sincere and heartfelt sympathy.
