Willie James Brown was born on April 21, 1932 to the late Queen Esther Johnson Harris and he departed this life on July 25, 2016. Willie received his education in the public school system of Chester, South Carolina and later he moved to Baltimore, Maryland where he made his home.
In 1974, he was united in marriage to Cynthia Wynn. Willie worked for Bethlehem Shipyard and retired after 28 years of service.
Williejoined Faith Tabernacle Christian Baptist Church where he served as Trustee and Deacon until he became ill and was unable to fulfill his duties as trustee. Willie loved fishing, bowling, playing cards and cooking for his family.
Willie was preceded in death by: his daughter, Beverly Brown; four sisters, Inez Johnson Jones, Rozenia Harris, Carleen Strong and Eunice Johnson.
Willie leaves to cherish his memory devoted wife Cynthia Brown; four children, Perry Brown, Gary Brown, James Brown, and Donta Marshall; one son-in-law Ryan Marshall (or Ron, as he would call him); two sisters, Lorraine Battle of Baltimore, MD and Pearlene Buie of Greenwood, SC; six sisters-in-Iaws, Brenda Willis, Arnetta Drumond, Evelyn Greene and Ann Ford of Smithfield, VA and

Connie Barnes and Patricia McQueen of Baltimore, MD; five brothers-in-law, Michael Butts, Marti Harris and Frank Barnes of Baltimore, MD, Irvin Ford of Winsor, VA and George Buie of Greenwood, SC; Eight grandchildren, Linda, De'ontay. Phylicia, Isaiah, Patrice, Altalia, Ryan and Dylan. four great-grandchildren Dente. Zahir, Mason and Aaliyah; a special caregiver Deborah Odom; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
