What a matriarch of a family! Mrs. Grimes made us feel so welcome when we moved next door, and gave us such wonderful history lessons about our house and about Perry. She and Dr. Gallemore were unequaled in their knowledge of the people and the city of Perry. Mrs. Grimes gave such a visual picture of it that I felt I had seen it too. I remember thinking that I wanted to be like her -- so loving of her family and town and so full of grace. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.

GRANNY GRIMES IS AND WAS A WOMDERFUL MOTHER , FRIEND, AND GRANDMOTHER. I MARRIED HER GRANDSON GREGORY MARTIN AND FEEL VERY FORTUNATE TO HAVE KNOWN HER IN MY LIFE. A most gracious and wonderful lady was Mrs. Grimes. She was such a good friend to so many Perryans and spoke kindly of all. She had great skill with floral arrangements which appeared in many Perry homes and in church weddings. She raised three fine children and was, unquestionably, one of Perry's finest residents.
