Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson was born to the late Willie Mitchell and Louvenia Mitchell in Jackson, Alabama on September 12, 1923. She departed this world on April 20, 2020. She was the eldest of ten children, and a member of First Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church. Willie Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Johnson Sr.; three sons, Albert Johnson Sr., Ronald Johnson Sr., and Ira Johnson Jr. one daughter, Lucille Moorer; three brothers, Earl, Roosevelt, and Vernon Mitchell, two sisters, Ruth Ruggs and Ida Smith. She is survived by daughters, Thelma J. Davis and Joyce Weeks; one devoted, daughter-n-law, Charlotte Johnson; sisters, Rosie Martin, Earnestine Chatman, and Bernice Pollenitz; and one brother, Charles Mitchell; grandchildren, Albert (Sherry) Johnson Jr., Kimba Moorer (Shawn), Dr. Traci (Kelvin) Davis-Hinton; Dr. Charles (Dr. Latrica) Davis Jr. and Ronald (Aminah) Johnson, Jr.; great grandchildren, Caress (Sean) Brown, LeKendrick Moorer, William Davis, Jayda, Ronald III, Joshua, Aniyah Johnson, Charles III, and Cullen Davis; great-great grandchildren, Sean Lucien and Thaddeus Brown; a host of nieces, nephews and friends along with her Plateau children she loved and helped rear. They are too numerous to name but each held a special place in her heart. Graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020 in the Whispering Pines Cemetery, Whistler, AL. Rev. Lamar Brady Pastor and Officiating Minister. Arrangements are entrusted to the careful direction of Reese Funeral Home.
