The African concept of Time never passes...only enhances the value of those special moments. The memory of Osagyefo holds us all in a vibrant embrace of 'the purpose of being'. Akusika, it is my heart-felt hope that the celebration of his life & love will be a guide and blessing for generations to come.

I have been truely blessed to have Dr. Willie Ray Mackey as my oldest brother. I miss Ray so much. There is not a day that goes by that I dont think about him. It has been real hard for me and my family to come to terms with losing such a loving, kind and wonderful brother, but the memories that I have are filled with joy, love and smiles. My brother was our family mentor and HERO to all of his siblings and family. We were all so proud of each achievement that he made; while he was even more...

It is an honor to join in on the celebration of the life of Karimi Mackey. At Oberlin, Karimi, like so many of us (myself included), was seeking to find himself. As a result, he, again, like so many of us, came before the academic standards committee for review of his academic progress. Knowing Dr. Willie "Karimi" Mackey only through his daughters and their mother has been an awesome priviledge. Nyonu & Niama have grown to become very confident, assured, young women who "wear there black womanhood" extremely well. I often reference their grace and accomplishments when talking to my young teenage daughter. While I have not met Dr. Mackey personally, based on what I have read and heard, perhaps his daughters ability to continuously stretch themselves, as evidenced by their...

Dr. Mackey was a special gift brought to Cheyney. We were greatly inspired by his talent and enthusiasm in scientific education. He helped us to successfully acquire the CIPA (Curriculum Improvement Partnership Award) grant from NASA, that is a great resource and encouragement to the department of Science. Dr. Mackey is truly a bright scientist, a caring friend and an inspirig colleague. His talent and friendship will always be remembered and appreciated here at Cheyney.

His death - What a shock to a friend! A great loss to the Commmunity! A set back to Africa! A terrible blow to the world!

Naima and Nyonu and the Family of Dr mackey
Bye my friend, and may your spirit of love and caring live on for ever.
I will miss your smile and the discussions we had concerning culture, science, politics and philosophy. As I explore the universe and plot the planets, you will be in my thoughts.
