THREADGILL Willie Ausie Threadgill - an 88 year-old native of Anne Manie, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, born March 31, 1924 to the late Viola and Obadiah Threadgill, Sr., passed away into eternal rest on January 18, 2013. He served as principal of W.D. Robbins Elementary School for 24 years. However, his professional tenure totaled 37 years of service. Mr. Threadgill was a faithful and devoted member of Memorial Presbyterian Church where he served as a Sunday School Teacher, Elder, and Moderator. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 65 years, Marguerite Threadgill; 3 children, Casaundra (Joseph) Ross, Wendell (Beverly) Threadgill, and Gayle (Bruce) Ligon; 6 grandchildren, Crystal (Charles) Graham, Chresal (Tanya) Threadgill, Jared (Jessica) Ligon, Jillian (Rudy) Ransom, Jessica (Ricardo) Reed, and Courtney Ross; 10 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Edith Ervin of Anne Manie, AL (Wilcox County) and Vernice Pope of Marion Junction, AL; a sister-in-law, Uralee Haynes; many nieces and nephews; a devoted friend of the family, Clarence Davis. The body will lie in state at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2450 St. Stephens Rd, Friday, January 25, 2013 from 5:00p.m.- 7:00p.m. The family will receive friends at Springhill Presbyterian Church, 10 Westminister Way, between Old Shell Rd. and Bit & Spur Rd., Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. funeral hour. Interment will be at Pine Crest Cemetery, Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Memorial Presbyterian Church in memory of Willie A.
