Willie "Big Will" "Paw-Paw Mr. Willie Wilkinson, at the age of 74, was called home to be with his heavenly father on Friday, October 4, 2013 at home in Avondale, La. He was born in Jackson, La. to the late Joseph Wilkinson and Patsy Kettle. He was a graduate of Clinton High and attended Grambling State University. He was a construction worker for 50 years and retired as foremen from Blueh Construction. He always had a word for anybody regardless, to who it was. He will be missed by all whom crossed his path. Willie leaves to cherish his many memories: his devoted wife of 53 yrs, Shirley B. Wilkinson; his 4 children: Willie, Kevin ( Marilyn) of Baton Rouge, Monday Wilkinson of California and Dorothea (Dorie) W. Montgomery; grandchildren: Jerome Mealey,Sr., Chelsea Wilkinson, Joshua and Jalen Montgomery; one great-grandson: Jerome Mealey,Jr.; Godchild: Shelia S. Craig of Austin; 3 sister-in-laws: Zerlee Jones, Susan Dominick- Walton of California, Barbara Peterson; 1 brother-in-law: Michael Brooks, Sr.; 2 Aunts: Ruby Miller of Illinois and Evelyn Sturgis of Austin. Also other relatives and friends.


Services will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 1:00p.m. at Dennis Mortuary 1812 Louisiana Avenue New Orleans, LA 70115. Visitation will begin at 12noon until service Rev. Gregory Ross, officiating. Burial will be private. Services entrusted to Dennis Mortuary, Dignified Personal Service, 1812 Louisiana Ave, New Orleans, LA 70115.
