Not sure what to say?

Mr. Green was my eighth grade teacher at F.D. McArthur. As a young man growing up in the fifties he was a larger than life hero to me.We would beg him to do chin ups on the play ground and of course he always would. When I graduated I thought so much of this man,I asked him to sign my diploma. He smiled and said I dont think I should but did anyway.I Have often thought of him through the years.

Sam Green was my great uncle, brother of my grandfather, Phillip Green. I would love to hear from any of his children or grandchildren.

I may be reached at: [email protected]

Deepest condolences,

Christian Greco

I am so sorry for your loss Mrs. Green and Dianna. Enjoyed my chats with Mr Green when he would come into the bank. Always was one of the men in my young life that seem much larger and had an influence.

Mr Green was my principal at Minnie Holman in the 1970's. He was a firm but fair man. He was everything you expect a principal to be, and more. God bless him and his family.

Mr.Green was the principal at Minnie Holman when I went there.Boy,I spent alot of time in the office, either for too short of dresses or hitting him by accident when he walked into one of my class rooms.I was playing Chatty Cathy doll and he just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time...Mr.Green will be missed and my thoughts and Prayers are with his family.

I remember Mr Green from Minnie Holman. He was a nice man. I was looking at class photos not long ago and wondered about him. I never knew he was in the military and I didn't know he was an artist. God bless him and God Bless his family!

Mr. Sam Green, my eighth grade teacher at F.D. McArthur, 1959-60, was the best instructor I ever had in any school I've attended. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of, or didn't remember all his other talents and abilities in the arts. However, I certainly do remember how well he had "trained" his flattop haircut and what a sharp, neat dresser he was. But I was most impressed that my teacher, Mr. Sam Green owned a real wooden airplane propeller and was cool enough to display it in our classroom....

Mr. Sam Green was my 8th grade teacher at F.D.McArthur School. He was a very caring teacher. It is funny how some teachers you can never forget. Mr. Green was one of them. What a very nice man he was. Elaine (Edington) Heffernan

My prayers and condolences to Sam Green's family. I had fhree daughters at Holman School with Mr. Green as Principal . He had a positive role in the future of so many boys and girls that attended Minnie Holman School, and bless his heart, he managed to survive three mothers , Peggy, Tommie and Glenda . We loved him and he was our friend.
Good By, Mr.Sam Green. We will see you again someday. Tommie Peppers, Birmingham,AL.
