Wilma B. Crumley

Dr. Crumley (never did feel right calling her Wilma) was so good to me first as an undergraduate student ('76) and then as an MA student ('81). I always remember that she made me rotate my factor analysis BY HAND, but invited me to her home filled with lovely music while I did so. She was the best. I know I would never have gone on for my Ph.D. without her encouragement and guidance. And I'm certain that so very many have wonderful memories.

I have always admired Wilma so much for all that she accomplished in her life and for her keen observations and insights in any conversation. My love and comforting thoughts to you, Liz and John, Kathy and Larry, and all the family and friends who knew and loved her.

I didn't get to know Wilma for a long time but in the time I had with her, I found her to be a remarkable woman. I also learned a lot about birds. Thank you to her family for allowing me to spend time with her while at the Monarch. She will truly be missed

I was a non conventional student before it was popular to attend college at that time of life. I wanted so badly to achieve my degree even if I was not the youngest student. I commuted from Beatrice, where I lived with my husband and two children. Dr. Crumbly was supportive of the challenges I faced and I greatly admired her life and guidance of the Journalism Department during my time in 1985 to my honors graduation in 1989. Condolences to Kathy, Liz and their families. She was a strong and amazing woman. As a member of my PhD committee, she challenged me to become more than I ever thought I could be.

Wilma was a beloved member of the Thursday Morning Lecture Circle. Her many interests enlightened our discussions. Our deepest sympathies.

Condolences to Kathy, Liz and their families from the Kohls. We have many good memories from long ago that have stayed with us over the years.

She was a pioneer and inspiration to women students. I send my condolences to her family and legion of friends and colleagues who will miss her intellect.
