Wilma Jane (Burt) Johnson, age 75, passed away October 2, 2013, surrounded by her family at her daughter's home in Burleson, Texas. Wilma was born at the family farm in Swea City, Iowa on February 17, 1938 to the late Vernon and Violet (Koons) Burt. She graduated from Ledyard High School in 1956. Wilma was married to Rinerd "Sam" Johnson on August 30, 1959 at the United Methodist Church in Swea City. Wilma was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and was always assisting with their endeavors. Throughout her valiant eleven-year battle with cancer, she remained determined to provide great memories for her grandson, whom she loved and spoiled endlessly. Wilma loved gardening, cooking, family fishing trips, traveling, and spoiling all of her "grand" dogs. She worked at several agricultural related jobs over her career and raised the livestock on the farm. Wilma was a long time member of the United Methodist Church of Swea City. Wilma was preceded in death by her husband, Rinerd "Sam" Johnson; parents, Vernon and Violet Burt; brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Darlene Burt; brothers-in-law, Paul Johnson and Don "Butch" Arndorfer. Left to cherish Wilma's memory are her children, Dan Johnson of Richland Hills, Texas; Dale Johnson of Fort Worth, Texas; Darla and Rick Badgero of Burleson, Texas; grandson, Bryan Badgero of Burleson; siblings, Vernon and Velma Burt of Blue Earth, Minnesota; Marion and Sharon Burt of Ledyard, Iowa; Linda and Terry Hammond of Ringsted, Iowa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Jean Arndorfer of Bancroft, Iowa; Joe and Elaine Johnson of Swea City; Donny and Evelyn Johnson of Swea City; aunts and uncles, Iris Koons of Swea City; Dorothy and Mike Christ of Buffalo Center, Iowa; Donald and Lorraine Koons of Estherville; and very special friend, Glen Thompson of Ledyard.
