Mrs. Wilma Thomas, age 83, of Murfreesboro, TN passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She was a native of Christiana, TN and was born to the late Ray and Mattie Tucker Davenport. Mrs. Thomas was passionate about her family and church. She loved gardening and playing cards with her friends. She always stood strong in her faith with the sweetest, most beautiful smile that lit up the room. Mrs. Thomas retired from Samsonite in the payroll department and faithfully attended Mt. Herman Baptist Church.

Mrs. Thomas is survived by her three children, Michael Thomas of Murfreesboro, Neika Troster and her husband Mark of Smyrna, TN, and Gentry Thomas of Murfreesboro; seven grandchildren, Kelli Sain and her husband Joe, Jake Thomas, Chris Thomas, Josh Thomas and his wife Lauren, Jada Law and her husband Jason, Cody Thomas and his wife Janel, and Marguerite Sims; 13 great-grandchildren; and sister, Dorothy Walden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Thomas; son, Stephen Kent; and brother, Joe David Davenport. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation with the family will be Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00am at Woodfin Memorial Chapel. Pastor Jerry Howard will officiate. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery. The young men of Mt. Herman Baptist Church will serve as pall bearers.

The family would like to thank Adams Place for their love, care, and compassion they have shown to her and her family during this difficult time. Memorials may be made to Mt. Herman Baptist Church, 2433 Mt. Herman Rd, Murfreesboro, TN 37127 in memory of Mrs. Thomas.

I am so sorry to hear about Wilma. The last time I saw her she wss working in the yard.I know she will be greatly miss.

So sorry to hear this. I worked with her many years at Samsonite and she was always a delight to be around. Heaven gained an angel.

My thoughts and prayers are with the beautiful woman's family. She's a wonderful soul that will be missed by anyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Thomas passing away. I spent my childhood on Atlas St. She always remembered you whenever she saw you. Her dream was to always get a reunion for all the kids on Atlas. Once again I'm so sorry for your loss. Nickie and Tammy (Johnson) Morton
