Dear Greatbatch Family,
I was so saddened to hear of Mr. Greatbatch's passing. He was such an important part of my life, and my sister's life, in the 50s in Clarence, first as our Sunday school teacher and later when he graciously drove my sister Judy and I to Buff State each day for two years. When he picked us up at our home on Main Street he eagerly shared with us the invention he was working on. Little did we know then that his pacemaker would go on to win worldwide usage and...

Sending deepest sympathy to the entire Greatbatch family. I will miss him and never forget him. We had many wonderful conversations and he told about so many things. We found out we had many things in common, grew up a block apart and went to same school. Will always cherish the private tour he gave me at Clarence Musuem, telling me about what it was like back in the days. He sent me postcards from all over the world and he drew 2 stick figures in a spaceship saying that was me and him flying...

My deepest sympathy & my prayers are with you. I worked for WG for almost 25 years. Their education program enabled my two children to benefit by it. Mr. Greatbatch was a generous and brilliant person. He will truly be missed.

Bill and Eleanor, walking Davison Road every morning with me and my dogs was a most enjoyable time. They were both great people and I will miss them very much.

I told Bill that I wished that I could have done something in my life that affected so many people so positively. Eleanore was always fiesty and so sharp. I will always feel very lucky to have known them.

Will Greatbatch will be remembered as a truly wise and wonderful man who proved the point that you don't have to be flashy to be a creative leader. The Clarence community loved him -- as well they should.

What a priviledge to have known Mr. Greatbatch. The fond memories of camping with him and Peter and some of the family while in Boy Scouts. My first experiences with 'Heavy Equipment' at the Clarence property.
But what influenced me most was being

I was in permanent heart block and received a pacemaker as an infant in 1964. I eventually learned I was the youngest person in NY to get a pacemaker. I was told I would never be able to run, ride a bike or have children. Thanks to the continued determination and brilliance of your father the dual chamber pacemaker was invented. I remember seeing a pacemaker prototype that mr. G had at home. I was in high school. Many warm loaves of home-made bread were shared at the kitchen table. Took Anne to the senior prom. No one was more responsible for my meeting God than from the prayers of two wonderful people, Wilson and Eleanor. And one of those little pacemakers not too dissimilar from the one I saw so many years ago keeps my heart in rythm now. Thanks Mr. G.
