Memories of Winnie. They are my earliest ones as my mother, Mirth Hornschuch, went to high school with her and talked of her all the time. I first remember going swimming at a young age at Winnie's house with my brother and a friend. It seemed to me that you must be rich to own a swimming pool. I didn't even realize the first time that it was not a heated one. The water seemed warm to me. But my real awe was that Winnie had horses. Eventually when I got my own, I named it after one...
