Winifred Vickery

Winifred was my father's nurse during his final illness in 1975-76. She was an excellent nurse, competent and caring. What I most remember though are the amazing conversations I would have with her about her growing up in England and persevering through the Blitz. She also had funny stories about her neighbors, the twins Peter and Anthony Shaffer, who went on to illustrious careers as playwrights.
