Not sure what to say?

Thanks Winnie, first for all the help you gave me as a child in a very poor family, so much you helped my mom though you struggled to do so. you were our eldest sister, and a second mother, we will always remember you with love, Robert[Barney]Freeman, youngest brother

Grandma was such a beautiful soul.
She was alsways positive, loving and ready to listen. I had the honor of going to her home many times in my life time and about two summers ago I shared special time with just her and I. I am so glad that I did, she talked to me about her life and her brothers and sisters... just so many happy memories. I am so glad that she had a good long life. I really miss her, but I know she is in a better place. Grandma I love you, you are and always in my heart.

Winnie was my favorite aunt. She was a Godsend when I moved there in the mid-60s after I left the Navy. One thing I remember about her was her two-footed driveing. She drove with one foot on the gas and one foot on the brakes. I always asked to drive after my first ride with her. I knew that I was always welcome in her home and visa versa.

Aunt Winnie was who I was named after. She was very special to me and I enjoyed my trips to California to see her. I will miss her very much.

Winnie was my Grandma and we always called her Gram Franklin. She had two sons named Ken and Ed and Ken is my dad. Gram Franklin was always present in my life and I will miss her greatly. Seeing the warm thoughts and words from others has touched me deeply. I remember going over to Gram and Pops a lot when I was growing up and enjoying southern cooking and good conversation. I never liked the saurkraut though until I got older. Gram was a true family person and I never heard her say a...

I am sorry to hear of Aunt Winnie's passing. I always looked forward to her visits to N.C. and the picnic "get-togethers" that everyone attended.

I especially treasure the memories of the summer of 1980 when my brother (Garner) and I spent part of our summer at her home in Sacramento. In preparation for our visit, that summer, my brother and I spent the prior winter and spring growing and selling tomato plants, in our dad's greenhouse, to help pay for our trip. We traveled to...

I remember staying with Aunt Winnie over night in 1987 on our way to my wedding. My dad, sister (Aletha) and I left in late May from Pasadena after I graduated from college, traveling to Vancouver, British Columbia, where Michelle and I were married on May 31st.

Our condolences,

Mark, Michelle, Alexis, Brittany & Joshua Wise

I remember many holidays spent at Winnie's house. Her loss hits me hard as I sit at work reading her obituary. Fondly remembering how special she made our visits, and watching games shows while something great was cooking in the kitchen. On behalf of my mother, my sister, and myself, know that you are each surrounded by love and fond memories. Thank you for sharing Winnie with us, she will long be remembered as a superb human being.
