EGAN - Winnifred Erma Cecelia
At University Hospital on Monday, January 26, 2009, Winnifred E. C. Egan (nee: White) in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late David W. Egan (2004). Loving mother of Winnie Robinson (Harold), Mike Egan (Mary), Ethel de la Penotiere (Bob), Pat Bossuyt (Garry), Doug Egan (Mary Jane), Steve Egan (Debby), Therese Crummer (John), Angela Bossuyt (Terry), Tom Egan (Norma) and Larry Egan (Lori). Also loved by 32 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 2 gr.great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Barbara Cavanaugh, Madeline Stinchcombe, Gloria Collar and Helen Richards. Winnie was predeceased by her children Dave, Tim, Josephine and Mary, her grandson David and her brothers Lorne and Donald White. A vivacious, beautiful, spiritual woman of deep faith, Winnie was a good friend to many who will sorely miss her. Her great sense of humour would say she’d had only 22 birthdays, having been born February 29th. Winnie was a founding and active member of Blessed Sacrament Parish in London until its recent closing. Visitors will be received in the O’Neil Funeral Home, 350 William St. on Wednesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday from 2:00 - 4:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Patrick’s Church (Dundas at Oakland Ave.) on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. David Furlonger, Celebrant. Interment St. Peter’s Cemetery. Prayers Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Winnie’s family would like to offer their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of University Hospital for their compassionate care and support. Steve, it has been many many years since we last spoke. My prayers go out to you and your family.

I recall hearing so many wonderful stories from Winni about her family, how she met her husband and how proud she was of her wonderful and many children and grandchildren. She was a wonderful vibrant women who will be missed greatly. May we all aspire to be as kind as Winni.
