WALTERHOUSE, Winston Frost -Of Linden, age 68, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006 at his residence. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11AM Friday, March 24, 2006 at Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church, 4133 Calkins Road in Flint, Father Jihad Younes officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery with a military graveside service under the auspices of the Marine Corps League Flint Detachment #155. Those desiring may make contributions to Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church. Visitation 4-8PM Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. An incense service will be held at 7:30PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mr. Walterhouse will be at the church from 10AM Friday until the time of the Mass. Winston was born in Flint, Michigan on June 12, 1937, and was the son of Dorothy (Naugle) Walterhouse. He was a graduate of Flint Northern High School, he married June Cronin on October 18, 1957. He retired from the United States Navy on October 31, 1974 as Senior Chief Petty Officer. Surviving are wife, June; 4 children, Michael, Julie, Annrae and husband James Fitzgerald, Audra and husband John Segrich; 4 grandchildren, Brittany, Dylan, Holly, and Brody; 1 brother, Lewis and wife Jeanette; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy; brother, Harold and sister, Constance.

My dad was everything you could ever want from a father - loving, caring, always wanting the best for you, a best friend. There is a giant hole in my heart since my father passed but he will always be treasured and loved. Wonderful dad, grandfather, father in law, and friend to all.

Wiston is my first cousin. While we had played together as children we had lost contact with each other for many years. No reason, except the normal drifting apart of family which is much to common.
Thanks to Winston, we did have enjoyable brief encounters over the last few years. This contact and shared interest in family genealogy was important to me. His passing leaves a void in my heart.
