Not sure what to say?

Truly the passing of an icon. There are some people that are associated with places and times, Mr. Wirt was one of those special people and he helped make Warrenton a great place to grow up. He always had a smile, and a kind word for me. He will be missed.

Lyn, Billy and Beth: My family and I wish to send you our deepest sympathy for the passing of Mr. Wirt, a legend in Warrenton. I remember the best of times, whether it be sports related, at Clarks Hill or just kicking back in the basement playing pool. It was all good!!!

Well they were Miss Marian and Mr. Wirt to me. They were always kind and welcoming.Whether at their home, the lake, tailgating in Athens or At the Ga/Fla game he and Miss Marian were always fun to be with. Thanks for all the memories. The Warrenton community has lost a valuable member! RON AND ELAYNE

Not often can I imagine using the word “wonderful” to describe an obituary, but this one truly is wonderful. I feel honored to have known Wirt for so many years. He’s left a great legacy in our community in both his business and family life. Susan and I extend our deepest sympathies to the Wilhoit family.
