Met wolf wolfensberger at the conference in Newcastle UK over 30 years ago. I was working for mencap at the time.
I had just finished my 3 year training in RNMH and his teaching was the nucleus of my thinking and work practices.
Thank you wolf for your wisdom, love and intelligence.

We were best friends at Peabody in the same dorm in '58-59. We both loved classical music, both on the Nashville chess team (he was #1, I was #2). He had a great sense of humor and we laughed a lot. He was a Sherlock, picking up little clues gaining an understanding. To the extent I've done that, I trace it back to observing him do it. We kept in touch after that, and in 1963 I was on a plane in Germany flying to London to meet him and tour the Britain for some research he was doing. ...

Dr. Wolfensberger is alive and well at Millersville University. Daily we discuss his work in required courses for teacher candidates. We also have anchored an entire curriculum on the teachings of Social Role Valorization. Even the Provost and President make use of the themes for relevant decision-making. Thanks Wolf!

I look to Dr. Wolfensburger as one whose teachings changed my life. I was fortunate to be able to learn from him as well as from the outstanding persons he had taught and with whom he associated.

Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of Wolf.
He is immortal in that he has called us to care, to act with love and compassion for people kept out of social roles. His teaching has been the foundation stone of QPPD and for many of us as parents in the organisation.
It has been a rich tapestry he has shown us all as we strive to create valued social roles for our children.
His wisdom lives forever

Deepest sympathy to the family, for a man who spoke life into my heart. 1986 workshop on 'Deathmaking', on the Sunday morning we met, shared faith and prayed together. My life burst open with new acceptance and understanding of who Jesus is.

The world has lost a human being who will always be ranked amongst the highest in humanistic terms. The man may be no more but the spirit & soul of what he represented will remain, that is a legacy that is truly eternal.
