Wolfgang Hauer

I first became acquainted with Mr Hauer when I admired his announcement drawings for events at the Botanical Gardens. I spoke to him about acquiring one that I particularly admired. He said he could go much better and would paint me an interpretation of the same drawing.

He made three beautiful acrylic paintings with I have now, still, on display in my apartment.

The occasion of my searching just now for him was my plan to frame and hang a few of the series of...

Wolfie was an amazing human being, a hero to me. Physically small, unassuming, and frail, he was also kind, wise, generous and bright of mind and heart. To know Wolfgang was to instantly love him and be loved by him. I give thanks to his adopted family, Lenny, Nan and all the others who loved him so deeply and well. We miss you Wolfgang and thank you for blessing us with your friendship!

I met Wolfgang only once just a few months ago, and even in this brief encounter I realized just how magical he was. His spirit will live on in all of the nature and people that he touched.

My condolences to Wolfgang's fortunate friends and dedicated circle of caregivers. My prayer is that you will continue to be blessed by your association with Wolfgang, and that, through you, the larger world will also continue to benefit from Wolfgang's beautiful sojourn among us.

I will always have fond memories of Wolfgang at Wise Roots. My Dad considered him his friend and now they both are gone, resting in garden heaven. Thanks to all who took such wonderful care of him in his last days.
