Wulf Kunkel

I knew Professor Kunkel as a fabulous teacher. He taught the three quarter introductory quantum mechanics course I took at UCB in 1969 and 1970. I particularly remember his vivid descriptions of the key experiments leading to quantum theory. Even more than that, I remember his wonderful, playful, gentle sense of humour. Always exceedingly polite and kind to me. I will always think of him as a great man.

We were a young Kunkel family in the Bay Area in the 50's; an uncommon name. So many times, as a child, I would look up Wulf, his latest work and with great pride, have an inspired day.
I did not ever meet him. Thank you Wulf, and my deepest condolences to his family.

Our hearts going out to you at this time~ Erika, Barbie, Maya and greater family.
I recall Wulf driving the convertible home from his work. You were terrific neighbors ?

his avid interest in theater!

Our sincere condolences to the Wulf Kunkel family. Wulf had a profound influence in our lives by directing Bill's doctoral work through all the ups and downs to a successful conclusion. Bill treasures his memories of Wulf's seminal ideas, and of his unfailing kindness and patience during those years.
