Wyatt Knight

Obituary

KULA, Hawaii (AP) - Wyatt Knight, who starred in the 1980s "Porky's" films, has been found dead in Hawaii with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 56.

A family statement Friday says the actor chose to end his life in a "beautiful" and "serene" place after physical and emotional pain from radiation treatment for non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He underwent a bone marrow transplant in 2003.

Maui police Lt. Wayne Ibarra says Knight's body was found Oct. 26 in the upcountry region. An autopsy determined Knight died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Knight's most well-known role was playing Tommy Turner in the "Porky's" comedy trilogy.

Knight lived in Los Angeles and had been staying in Kula for several months. He is survived by his wife, Silvina, and two children from a previous marriage.

Not sure what to say?

The soul of Porkys movies, and someone work who made me laugh so much and kept me entertained with quality. All I can see is that I´m knowing that he was gone so soon and with pain. My thoughts are undoubtedly to his family and friends. Much love and lest we forget.

Rest In Peace Wyatt. The Porky's movies are classic early 80's comedy. You had a life to be proud of. RIP

I liked the Porky movies he did. For me, I identified with his character. We have a uncanny resemblance. We could've been biological Bros. Nevertheless, sorry he's gone, my condolences to the family.

I really loved this actor. I want to see more of Wyatt's stuff, but I'm finding it hard when going through Youtube, except for that one, Stages he did. The guy is legendary, and was taken from us too young. But he's no longer in pain. RIP Wyatt, you'll always be remembered.

Rest In Peace Wyatt Knight

Say it isnt so! The king of comedy Mr Positive and Funny Mr Wyatt Knight my all time favourite! What a real shame. Rest In Peace Wyatt. You really were something. I have been teaching for 16 years and I have been using your jokes and wit and style with all my students for years and it always went down a treat. The world is gonna be a much duller place without you. :(

NO MORE PAIN. REST IN PEACE, YOU CHOSE A NICE AND PEACEFUL PLACE TO REST YOU ARE WITH 'GOD'.

My prayers go out to Wyatt's family. I knew him during our time in high school together at El Modena. His family lived on our street. He was a bright and free spirit back then. I wish I could have seen him one more time. Maui would be my choice of departure as well...Closest place to heaven here on earth. Rest in peace, old friend.
