Please accept my condolences. I hope the smaller orange tree I sent to the family last year still grows. She liked fruit trees. I had the great fortune of meeting Xia early in her career, since my firm hired her to help on an immigration case. We continued to work together on a variety of cases until finally she invited me to open up a law office with her. Those plans, unfortunately, fell through. I still remember her big smile, which she flashed so often. She was a...

I know this is a late entry, but I still wanted to share a memory of Xia. I just found out tonight when I looked in the Hastings Alumni magazine and saw Xia's name in the Memoriam section. I did a quick search and found out the very sad news of her passing last year. It's late at night right now, but I felt compelled to write something.

I met Xia when we went on the study abroad program in Shanghai in I believe the summer of 2000. I had just finished my 2nd year in law school...

To Xia Zhao and Her Family,

May Xia rest peacefully in God’s arm, and she will be missed forever.

May God comfort you and be with you during this difficult time. Take care!

Christmas 2006

I met Xia at Hastings and she always had a great sense of humor. She would jokingly refer to my boyfriend as "my man" and say things like, "how's your man?" She promised that I would meet my Mr. Right someday and even sent me the movie, "Mr. Right" with Ellen Degeneres as a joke. She was so happy to hear that I am getting married in November and emailed that she couldn't wait to meet "my new man" at the wedding. I am so sad that she will not be at my wedding.

She was a wonderful...

Xia Zhao,

You had such an inspiring spirit, which motivates people around you to keep going and going, just like you did. You were truly amazing and just wonderful to be around.

I really missed you and I felt so sorry I did not keep in touch with you more.

May you rest in peace!

Dear Kevin and Kael:

I am so sad to hear this. There is nothing can replace her in the life. I am a mother of a 2 year boy too. I have a friend in our Church knows Xia. I like to send your son a Thomas train gift, because my son loves Thomas train and a big fun of it.

Dear Kevin and Kael,

We are saddened by your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

May you find strength in His love.

Respectfully,
