Yantis Wright

ODESSA - Yantis Wright, known to most as Oscar, age 91, of Odessa passed away Monday, November 26, 2018 at his home in Odessa. He was born April 6, 1927 in Cross Plains, Texas. He was an oilfield supervisor and also served in the United States Navy. He married Della Irene (Crim) Wright in 1944 and enjoyed 62 years of marriage until her passing in 2006. He was known to be patient, loving and kind to all his family, friends, co-workers and acquaintances, and he had a special soft spot for his children. He is survived by his children, David L. Wright of New Home, Texas, Tony Wright of Odessa, Texas, and Julia Lynn (Wright) Garrett of Lewisville, Texas; 9 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife Della Wright; his second wife, Sybil (King) Wright; 1 daughter, Lucretia Ann (Wright) Hines; 1 brother, Alph Lee Wright Jr.; and his daughter-in-law, Rita Gayle (Cox) Wright. Any memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America. Services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, Texas.
