Yolanda Ambriz Sandoval 79, passed away peacefully on Monday December 26, 2022, in Las Vegas, Nevada of natural causes after years of battling cancer.


She was born August 8, 1943 to Clemente Ambriz and Ofelia Sotelo in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico. Upon completion of her studies Yolanda worked for Maquiladora de Maderas in Chihuahua. She started there as a secretary later promoted to accountant and eventually promoted to assistant director. In early adulthood, Yolanda enjoyed traveling and was a fan of Elvis Presley.


She married Gustavo V. Sandoval in 1981 in Chihuahua, Mexico. They built their residence in Blythe, California where they had two daughters Marcella and Rocio Sandoval. Primarily a housewife and mother Yolanda later begin taking college courses at Palo Verde College and working in agriculture. She also worked in Home Health as a caretaker and at Ruth Brown Elementary School as a noon supervisor. Her most recent and most loved job was helping raise her grandchildren James and Jaxson Randall.


Yolanda was a caring and selfless person. She enjoyed attending church services, visiting with friends, listening to old records, taking walks along the canal and Todd Park and taking trips to the casino in Parker, with her husband.


Yolanda was a dedicated mother, wife, grandmother and friend. She will be missed greatly by her family and loved ones. She will especially be missed by her oldest grandson James Randall III, whose presence seemed to light up her world. He gave her strength and motivation to endure many health challenges.


Yolanda is survived by her daughter Marcella (Jorge) Salazar, daughter Rocio (James) Randall, brother Arturo (Romelia) Ambriz, sister Susana Muñoz, brother Raul (Patricia) Ambriz, brother Jorge (Olivia) Ambriz, niece Patricia (Ernest) Armenta, grandson James Randall III, grandson Gustavo Salazar, grandson Jaxson Randall, granddaughter Ximena Salazar, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Yolanda is preceded in death by her husband Gustavo Sandoval, mother Ofelia Ambriz and father Clemente Ambriz.


Funeral services will be held on Friday January 20, 2022 at Frye Chapel Mortuary in Blythe, California with visitation starting at 9AM, Rosary starting at 10AM and funeral service starting at 11AM. A luncheon will be held at the American Legion hall at 1PM.
