I met Yolanda when I was employed at Birmingham City Hall and she was employed at the Birmingham Public Library in the children's department. To know Yolanda was to love her. We quickly became friends and shared many conversations. When she spoke about her children you could see and hear the love and adoration she had for them. Through all the difficulties that life threw at her, she weathered them all with grace, determination, and always a cheerful heart. I visited the library often and I...
