Not sure what to say?

I met Yone in 1977, when I was 34 and was looking for a legitimate training in Karate, not from a part timer but an exclusive pro. His Dojo and style was an inspiration for me to train there, which I did for 7 years. We became close friends. He introduced me to Sushi that same when Hatsuhana was the only Sushi restaurant in New York City. In memory of a Great Sensei, A Great Man and a Great Friend.

My dear friend, I miss your wise guidance and the many beers and laughter after classes. RIP

Rest in Peace Sensei, I will always remember you.

RIP old friend not only were you a great sensei, you were a great friend. I miss calling you every Dec. 7th. It was our private joke for over38 years.

You were a great teacher and a wonderful friend

My husband, Richard Manburg, recently passed from pancreatic cancer. He was not aware of Yani's passing and if he were still here, he would be very saddened. Forever Thanks Yone for everything...

You have always been and will always be a positive force in my life.

I have shared your lessons about life to my students in Japan the last 20 plus years and will continue to do so. Your spirit continues to live in all the lives you have touched.

I am devastated to hear about Yani's much too early departure. He was an amazing champion, beloved teacher to my two children Mark and Leora, and a wonderful friend fir many years in New Jersey and in California. His visits to the Bay Area have always enriched our life. We will miss him dearly. With heartfelt sympathy to his family. Lina Broydo and Family.San Francisco, CA
