Baca's Funeral Chapels - Las Cruces Obituary

Yvette Moreno, 69 of El Paso, TX passed away on February 1, 2025 in Las Cruces, NM.

Yvette was born in El Paso, TX to Frank “Chito” Flores and Diomira Elia “Lily” Flores. Yvette was the oldest of six children and grew up in the lower valley of El Paso, TX. She graduated from Riverside High School in 1974 and was the head captain of the Riverside Rangerette’s. After high school Yvette was married and started a family, having two sons while her husband Abie Moreno began his career in the armed forces. While living the life of a military spouse, Yvette was able to obtain her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology from Sacramento State University as well as her Masters Degree in Education from New Mexico State University. Yvette worked for the Las Cruces Public School District for 25 years in bilingual classrooms ranging from first to fourth grade educating and molding the minds of many students. Mrs. Moreno was truly a special teacher that would do anything to help her students succeed as well as assist her fellow educators. In her spare time Yvette loved being with family and friends, listening to music and most of all dancing. Her passion for music and dance lasted throughout her lifetime from Rangerettes, to the Kansas City Chiefs Cheer-leading squad, learning the art of Flamingo, to dancing with all her loved ones at any family event or special occasion. Yvette was an amazing wife, mother, sister, nina, cousin but most importantly she was an unbelievable grandmother. Her smile, her laugh, her energy and love will continue to inspire us all and we will forever be grateful for the time we were able to spend with her.

Not sure what to say?

Such a wonderful lady, from an amazing family. You are going to be missed. I remember you with always a smile. When I remember you I’ll be smiling.

My deepest and sincere condolences to the Flores and Moreno family! I'm so sorry for the loss of your beloved Yvette! I remember her vividly in high school in both choir performances and at our football games (I was in the band) as a Head Rangerette and captain! She was beautiful, tall, great smile and always so genuine and friendly! Then fast forward, I was so excited to see Yvette in 2017 and both Roxie and her in 2023 for our combined RHS reunion! You were a beautiful soul inside and out...

When Abie and his family were stationed at White Sands Missile Range in Las Cruces, New Mexico, Yvette volunteered to teach in the Religious Education Program (CCD). She was a beautiful, gifted teacher, she brought joy to "Fr. B", all her co-teachers, and to the many children she shared the love of her Catholic Faith with. She was so very special. A new angel now resides in Heaven.

May your beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.

A beautiful person that has gone but not forgotten. Your memories will warm a lot of hearts. Your kindness, your sweetness, your outgoing personality. Got takes always the best persons he meets and you were chosen. May you rest in peace. Yvette.
You earned your wings. Now it's time to fly and watch over us as a guardian angel. My condolences
