I will always remember Yvette as more poised and sophisticated than other kids in the old Baltimore neighborhood. She had a persona that was both kind and no-nonsense. I remember Yvette visiting my family home with Aunt Marion on special occasions. When the crowd was gone, Yvette would retire to the bedroom and get into her pajamas. In 1984, my husband passed; it was unexpected and sudden. I was extremely distraught. Yvette came to Indianapolis and stayed with me for several days. There were many tears, but she made me understand that life continues and I had to be available for my two daughters who were 2 and 4. She helped me through that moment and I am forever grateful to her for taking time out of her schedule to console me. She will be forever missed. May The Lord Be With Yvette, Sylvia Kenner, cousin.
