Yvonne Laura Moon

YVONNE LAURA MOON Yvonne Laura Moon was born June 18, in Pontiac, Michigan. She died peacefully on Sunday, March 24, 2013, at her home in Huntington Woods, Michigan. Yvonne was a resident of Huntington Woods and a former resident of Madison Heights and Clarkston. She graduated in 1978 from Clarkston High School and received her Associates Degree from Oakland University. Yvonne was a longtime ballroom dance instructor in the Detroit area and was currently an instructor with the Troy Dance Studio. She was fluent in Spanish. Yvonne was an accomplished gardener; one of her gardens at The Detroit Zoo is entitled the "Moon Garden." In addition to gardening, she enjoyed arts and crafts, glass painting, stamping, occasion cards, travel, bicycling, sewing, the beach, costume design and Sunday dinners with her family and friends.. Yvonne was the loving companion of Arthur P. McDuffey for over 18 years. She was the beloved daughter of Mary Louise Emerson and the late Maurice Frederick Moon. She was the dear sister of Phillip Moon (Judith), Cathy Lawhead (Jerry), Donald Moon and Vicki Booker (Russ). She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. The Moon Family will receive friends Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 3p.m. until the memorial service at 6p.m. at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home (Vasu, Rodgers & Connell Chapel), 32515 Woodward Avenue, Royal Oak. Memorial tributes to Beaumont Hospice.
